How it all started....

I live in New Hampshire with my husband, Mike, and our dog, Lucky. I've been an artist all my life and graduated from the Columbus College of Art and Design with a degree in Retail Advertising. After a long corporate career in graphic design at a few places, including heading the Graphic Design Department at The Longaberger Company, I started my own company creating faux finishes and interior spaces for stores and homes in Ohio. As luck would have it, I met my husband in 2003 and "retired" early. Among the many things I filled my time with was picking up my paint brushes again. Painting had always been a love of mine during school, but I didn't give it much time after college. The idea of pet portraits actually started with my husband. When we met, my husband had a dog named PJ. He was a Beagle/German Sheppard mix who was more human than dog and I loved him from the start. Mike had picked up PJ from the pound when he was a year old and had him for 10 years by the time I came along. When PJ hit 15, his health was in decline and I thought it would be nice for my husband to have something special for Christmas of his boy, so I painted a portrait of PJ for him. He just loved it and said I should do this for other people. That’s how it all began. I hope to bring a bit of happiness and joy through art to you, too.

And this is our sweet girl Lucky. She came to us from a wonderful rescue organization called Ozark Mutts and Stuff.   If you are looking to adopt a dog, give them a try. They are a wonderful group that will do everything they can to match you with the "fur kid" that's right for you. Check out their website at www.ozarkmuttsandstuff.org. Lucky's been with us for over a year now, and like her name, we can't believe how lucky we are to have her with us.
